Wiz Khalifa Inks Major.

Ok so independent rappers take notes. Stop payin DJ’s to get on their mixtapes, payin to get on their radio show’s. Which they’ll make sound more popular than it really is. Just do it yourself. Pittsburgh emcee Wiz Khalifa did. He created his own buzz, and now it’s paid off he just inked a deal with Atlantic records. I even hear maybach music, and Rick Ross came at him………

Rapper Wiz Khalifa has a new record deal. On the heels of being named “Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010” by MTV, Wiz has signed a deal with Atlantic Records, via his indie label Rostrum Records.

The Pittsburgh, PA rapper’s camp announced the deal in a press release this week, and also added that Wiz will currently hard at work on his major label debut.

The as-yet-titled album is slated for release in early 2011.

Having already released a steady stream of popular mixtapes, Wiz blew up big time earlier this year with the release of his monster mixtape, Kush & Orange Juice. The mixtape proved to be a genuine online phenomenon, quickly becoming the #1 search topic on both Google and Yahoo, as well as a #1 trending topic on Twitter, with the hashtag, #kushandorangejuice.

Since then, Wiz’ online presence has been undeniable. He garnered close to 8 million profile views and a total of nearly 30 million plays at his official MySpace page, MySpace.com/WizKhalifa, as well as over 220,000 fans following him at on Twitter @RealWizKhalifa. Additionally, on Facebook, over 400,000 people have “liked” his page.

The rapper is set to embark on a massive North American tour dubbed the “Waken Baken Tour” in mid-September through late November.
