Jay-Z Set To Release “Decoded”. A Book About His Life Available In November.

Jay Z releasing a book called decoded. Which chronicles as you may have guessed the life, and times of Sean Carter. Sounds familiar, but in book form which sounds like it could be real interesting reading. Instead of hearing it in a rhyme, or an interview you get it straight from the man, and people around him…….

Jay-Z’s story of rags to riches has been played out in the media since the 90s. But, for those who want a deeper account, the hip-hop mogul’s got you … and you can read all about it in an upcoming semi-autobiographical book called Decoded.

According to Rolling Stone, the upcoming book will be published by Spiegel & Grau and mixes first-person memoir with detailed explanations of some of the rapper’s most known lyrics.

“I’m gonna pick select ones … all the double-entendres and things that people may have missed or may have gotten and want confirmation on it,” Jay explained to the mag

Jay teamed up with former The Source editor Dream Hampton on the book, which will include interviews with Jay-Z’s family and friends as well as the rapper, himself.

Its 336 pages in length and will detail his life as a child in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects to his years drug pusher as a teen to his rise to superstardom as a musician.

Additionally, the hardcover, illustrated book will explore Jay-Z’s creative process.

“It’s too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed. So I was learning a lot of things I didn’t know as a child,” Jay-Z told Rolling Store previously. “It’s not anything I haven’t said in the past, in songs. It’s just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn’t have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went.”

Decoded will hit bookstores on November 16th. It’s currently available for pre-order at Amazon.com.
